What You’ll Do
As a Bottling Operator II, you’ll work at various stations throughout the bottling line and independently operate assigned equipment while supporting production, quality, safety, and teamwork.
- Independently operating bottling and packaging equipment, including the dump table/uncaser, case packer, case sealer, case printer, pallet stacker, and stretch wrapper.
- Operating the rinser, filler, corker/capper, and labeler with limited supervision following demonstrated training.
- Performing equipment setups, changeovers, machine-part changes, sanitation, and breakdown activities.
- Preparing and sanitizing wine lines for bottling.
- Verifying that glass, labels, closures, cases, and other packaging materials match product specifications.
- Monitoring equipment performance and making routine adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
- Performing and documenting quality checks, including fill levels, closures, labels, date and lot codes, case configuration, and packaging integrity.
- Stopping the line when necessary to prevent unsafe, defective, or out-of-specification products.
- Troubleshooting routine product, packaging, and equipment issues within the scope of training.
- Completing production logs, quality records, downtime reports, and material-usage documentation.
- Training and supporting Bottling Operator I employees in equipment operation, sanitation, changeovers, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
- Maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized equipment and work areas.
- Communicating and working collaboratively with Bottling, Maintenance, QA/QC, Warehouse, and management personnel.
- Performing additional duties and projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) to two (2) years of bottling line experience, preferably in the wine, beverage, food, or manufacturing industry.
- Ability to independently operate assigned bottling and packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of bottling operations, sanitation requirements, and packaging specifications.
- Ability to perform equipment setups, changeovers, routine adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read production documents, perform basic calculations, and accurately complete records in English.
- Forklift experience preferred; current certification or the ability to obtain Company certification is required.
- Ability to work independently, train other employees, and adapt to changing production priorities.
- Flexibility to work shifts of 10 hours or more, weekends, holidays, and extended harvest schedules.
Safety and Quality Matter
- Follow all LangeTwins safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, standard operating procedures, and established work instructions.
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment and follow equipment-guarding, forklift, chemical-handling, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Immediately correct or report unsafe, unsanitary, or product-quality concerns.
- Support production goals without compromising employee safety, product quality, or established procedures.
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing and walking for most of the workday, frequently getting on and off a forklift, and regularly bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Candidates must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, work on elevated catwalks, and work near high-speed production equipment.
