Social Media & Event Coordinator

Better Together Recreation – Hesperia, CA

Job Summary

Better Together Recreation is looking for a creative, outgoing, and dependable Social Media & Event Coordinator to help grow our online presence and community awareness.

This position will focus on creating social media content, visiting our facility to capture photos and videos, managing posts, and finding local vendor events, resource fairs, and community events for Better Together Recreation to attend.

We are a sports and fitness program serving individuals with developmental disabilities, and we are looking for someone who can help showcase our program and connect us with the community.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Visit our Hesperia facility to take photos and videos of activities for approved social media content
Create and post engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms
Create reels, stories, graphics, flyers, and promotional posts
Maintain a consistent and professional social media presence
Research and find vendor events, resource fairs, community fairs, networking events, and outreach opportunities
Contact event organizers and assist with vendor registration when needed
Attend selected events and represent Better Together Recreation
Assist with event setup, promotional materials, and community outreach
Engage with followers and help grow social media awareness
Track basic engagement and identify content that performs well
Develop creative ideas to promote the program and attract new participants

Qualifications

Experience with social media and content creation
Comfortable taking photos and videos with a smartphone
Experience with Canva, Adobe, CapCut, or similar editing tools is preferred
Creative, organized, and able to work independently
Strong communication and writing skills
Comfortable attending events and speaking with families and community organizations
Reliable transportation for local events and facility visits
Event planning, marketing, outreach, or social media experience is a plus

Schedule

Schedule will be flexible and may vary depending on facility content needs, vendor fairs, community events, and outreach opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, create engaging content, and actively find opportunities to get Better Together Recreation in front of more families and community organizations.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Hesperia, CA 92345
