Reports To: Quality Supervisor
Scope: Under minimal supervision, the QC Inspector is responsible for all assigned Quality Inspections. Specifically, the QC Inspector is responsible for: Inspecting finished product produced within the parameters listed on the work order, documenting accurate data collected from the inspections, communicating results to the Production and Quality Supervision, and placing non-conforming product on hold for further disposition.
Essential Duties:
· Verify that products are being manufactured according to cGMP, internal (BOM) product specifications and according to label claims, including First Piece Inspection
· Responsible for quality inspection/sampling and acceptance or rejection of product
· Responsible for performing in-process production inspections as noted
· Initiate and conduct material review processes when necessary, and assist with disposition decisions in a timely manner
· Keep Production and Quality Supervision fully aware of new developments and issues
· Make recommendations to improve Product Quality/Product Assurance/cGMP standards
· Responsible for cGMP and quality of products
· Accurately and timely completion of quality documents and reports
· Verification of records used in performing inspections
· Ability to use the following tools/equipment, but not limited to: balances, off-torque machine, SPC software, color chart
· Authority to sign off on appropriate records
· Verification and or testing of finished products
· Assist with other projects or duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:
· Two to four years of field experience in quality control or laboratory position preferred
· Working knowledge of laboratory methods and technical documentation required
· Previous experience in production is strongly preferred
· Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and standard office equipment (copier, fax, calculator, etc.) is required
· Ability to follow printed/verbal instructions
· Must follow all safety guidelines
· Must maintain a clean work environment and follow all quality policies
· Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to think and act cross-functionally
· Ability to create documents and reports
· Good organizational skills
· Work individually or with a team
· Maintain neat and accurate records
· Pay close attention to detail and follow instructions closely
· Basic math and computer skills required with the ability to learn additional statistical functions
· Understanding of basic Quality Control Inspection Methods and interpretation of control charts
· Excellent work history, attendance, initiative and drive to succeed
· Maintain excellent communication and relationships with others; be a team player; maintain a positive attitude
