Position Overview
The Audio-Visual Manager at Distrito T-Mobile serves as the technical and operational backbone of one of Puerto Rico’s most dynamic entertainment and cultural destinations. This leadership role is responsible for two interconnected pillars: the strategic management of all AV technology infrastructure — including maintenance, capital planning, and technology upgrades — and day-to-day operational leadership of the Control Room (Production) Team.
The Control Room is the heartbeat of the Distrito T-Mobile experience, orchestrating sound, visuals, and partnership content across a network of high-impact LED screens throughout the venue. The AV Manager ensures that every activation, event, and commercial partnership is delivered with technical excellence, creative precision, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Control Room & Production Operations
- Oversee the daily execution of all Control Room operations, ensuring seamless delivery of audio, visual, and content programming across all LED displays and speaker systems throughout the venue.
- Direct and coordinate the Production Team during live events, activations, and day-to-day programming, serving as the primary decision-maker for real-time AV adjustments.
- Develop and maintain programming schedules for all LED screens, integrating partnership content, promotional material, and experiential programming in alignment with commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Partnerships team to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality delivery of sponsored and advertised content on display networks.
- Establish and enforce quality control standards for all content output, including resolution, color calibration, audio levels, and timing.
- Serve as a liaison between the Control Room and external production vendors, content creators, and technical partners.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, schedule, and manage the Control Room (Production) Team, including full-time operators and part-time or contracted technicians.
- Develop work schedules, coordinate coverage for events and activations, and manage time-off requests to ensure continuous operational readiness.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
- Identify staffing gaps, participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, and establish training programs for AV systems and production workflows.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team.
AV Infrastructure & Technology Management
- Own the full lifecycle management of all AV assets, including LED video walls, digital displays, audio systems, control systems, cabling infrastructure, and broadcast equipment.
- Develop and execute a preventive maintenance program for all AV systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring peak operational performance.
- Assist the Director of AV in the evaluation, recommendation, and procurement of new AV technology, presenting business cases and ROI analyses to leadership.
- Manage relationships with AV vendors, service contractors, and equipment suppliers; negotiate service agreements and warranty terms.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all AV equipment and ensure proper documentation of system configurations, signal flows, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with facilities, IT, and operations teams to plan and execute AV system upgrades, installations, and expansions.
Project Management
- Lead AV-related capital projects from scoping through completion, managing timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Develop project plans, track milestones, and report progress to senior leadership on infrastructure upgrades, new technology deployments, and special event builds.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Events, Partnerships, and Operations teams to align AV capabilities with upcoming programming and business objectives.
- Anticipate and mitigate technical risks for high-profile events, developing contingency plans and backup systems as needed.
Core Competencies
- Technical Excellence: Deep command of AV systems and emerging technologies.
- Operational Leadership: Ability to direct teams and workflows under pressure.
- Strategic Thinking: Long-term vision for technology planning and investment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective partnership across sales, events, and operations.

- This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the Distrito T-Mobile event calendar.
- The AV Manager must be available and on-call for high-profile events and activations.
