Full Job Description

The Field Service Engineer / Helpdesk Technician is responsible for providing on-site and remote IT support to DealerGeek customers. This role requires daily travel to local customer locations, proactive monitoring of support tickets, and hands-on troubleshooting of common IT hardware and software issues. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable representing DealerGeek in front of clients.

Key Responsibilities

Commute daily to local customer sites as assigned, based on workload and priority
Able to travel to different customer locations throughout the Southeast Region (MS, AL, GA, TX, FL, LA)
Remain on standby for on-site IT support needs during business hours
Actively monitor and respond to requests in the ticketing system to ensure timely resolution
Perform basic IT hardware tasks, including but not limited to:
Computer repair or replacement
Phone and VoIP device troubleshooting
Printer and peripheral setup, repair, or replacement
Provide basic troubleshooting and escalation for software and network-related issues
Report daily to the Lead Engineer regarding tasks completed, current assignments, and location
Represent DealerGeek professionally at all customer locations
Participate in emergency support calls or large projects, including occasional travel to distant customer sites (travel expenses covered)

Customer Interaction & Professionalism

Deliver excellent customer service during all on-site and remote interactions
Maintain a professional appearance and communication style
Build positive working relationships with customer staff through consistent and reliable support

Work Schedule

Full-time position
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional after-hours or emergency support may be required

Compensation

Salary: Approximately $42,000 - 60,000 annually
Travel expenses covered for approved distant or emergency customer site visits

Qualifications (Preferred)

Basic understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting
Comfortable working in customer-facing environments
Good hygiene/grooming and proffesional attire.
Strong communication and time-management skills
Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally
Prior IT support or helpdesk experience is a plus but not required
