Young Management & Consulting (YMC) is seeking a technically skilled, customer-focused iPad / iOS Support Technician to support mobile technology operations across multiple power generation and utility facilities.
The successful candidate will join a team responsible for supporting 2,600+ iPad users, including device deployment, troubleshooting, replacement, application support, iOS testing, inventory management, and end-user training.
This is a hands-on, field-facing technology role requiring regular interaction with employees at power plants and other operational facilities. The technician will travel to various locations to deploy and replace iPads, provide in-person technical support, troubleshoot device and application issues, and ensure users have reliable access to the mobile technology required to perform their work.
Candidates with previous experience as an Apple Genius, Apple Technical Specialist, iOS Support Technician, Mobile Device Technician, or iOS QA/Test professional are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key ResponsibilitiesiPad & iOS Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support to iPad users by phone, remotely, and in person.
- Diagnose and resolve iPad hardware, iOS, connectivity, configuration, and application-related issues.
- Support mobile applications utilized by power delivery and power generation personnel, including ESDA, CarryMap, and other business-critical applications.
- Assist users with device configuration, authentication, application access, software updates, and general iOS functionality.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate internal teams when necessary.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of current Apple iPad hardware, iOS releases, features, and common troubleshooting procedures.
Device Deployment & Replacement
- Coordinate and perform large-scale iPad replacement and refresh activities.
- Receive, inventory, test, configure, and prepare new iPads for deployment.
- Perform initial device setup and verify proper functionality prior to distribution.
- Swap existing employee devices with newly configured iPads at power plants and other company locations.
- Ensure devices are properly assigned, documented, and tracked throughout the deployment process.
- Collect replaced devices and coordinate their return to the appropriate vendor or leasing provider.
- Assist with damaged-device processing, repairs, replacements, and warranty-related activities.
iOS & Application Testing
- Test new iOS/iPadOS releases, patches, updates, and mobile applications prior to broader deployment.
- Perform functional and compatibility testing to identify potential issues affecting users or business applications.
- Document testing results, technical issues, bugs, and recommended corrective actions.
- Assist with user acceptance testing and validation of new or updated mobile applications.
- Provide feedback regarding device performance, application functionality, and overall user experience.
Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records within the iPad/device management database.
- Track device assignments, replacements, repairs, returns, and inventory.
- Assist with maintaining accurate hardware lifecycle and asset-management records.
- Support the scheduled device replacement program, including the organization's approximately two-year iPad refresh cycle.
User Training & Customer Support
- Develop strong working relationships with iPad users across multiple departments and operational groups.
- Conduct individual and group iPad training sessions as needed.
- Educate employees on iOS functionality, applications, troubleshooting, and mobile technology best practices.
- Gather feedback from field personnel regarding mobile technology needs and recurring issues.
- Communicate user feedback to the appropriate technical and management teams to help improve future mobile solutions.
- Provide a high level of customer service while working with users with varying levels of technical experience.
Travel & Field Requirements
- Regular day travel to power plants, utility facilities, and other company locations is required.
- Overnight travel may occasionally be required depending on project and deployment schedules.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must be comfortable driving a company-provided vehicle.
- Future responsibilities may include towing a technology/equipment trailer using a company-provided non-CDL truck.
- Must be comfortable working within active power generation and industrial environments while following all site-specific safety requirements.
- Ability to transport, handle, organize, and deploy multiple mobile devices and associated equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Apple iPads, iPhones, iOS/iPadOS, or similar mobile technology.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, application, connectivity, and user-access issues.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies.
- Experience providing direct technical support to end users.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple device deployments and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a technical support team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to assigned facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Previous experience as an Apple Genius, Apple Technical Specialist, or Apple Support professional.
- Direct iOS/iPadOS development, QA, software testing, or application testing experience.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience.
- Enterprise iPad/iPhone deployment and configuration.
- Mobile application support.
- Hardware lifecycle and IT asset management.
- Large-scale device refresh or deployment projects.
- Technical training or end-user education.
- Experience supporting field personnel within utilities, power generation, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.

A candidate coming from an Apple Store Genius/Technical Specialist environment, enterprise mobile support team, or iOS QA/testing role who is comfortable traveling to power plants and operational facilities would be particularly well suited for this position.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
