Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Aide, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and personal well-being. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality, respectful care in various settings such as assisted living facilities, home health environments, group homes, and long-term care communities. As a Personal Care Aide, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, promoting independence while ensuring safety and comfort for those you serve. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will help create a nurturing environment that enhances quality of life.

Duties

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; report changes to healthcare professionals promptly
Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety
Assist with meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
Maintain cleanliness of community areas by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to promote a safe environment
Use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
Document care activities accurately in care plans and record patient observations diligently for ongoing assessment
Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of isolation or anxiety for residents or clients
Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that reflect each individual’s needs and preferences
Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures; be prepared to respond effectively during emergencies or incidents
Support residents with specialized needs such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care, memory care programs, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder

Skills

Proven experience in home & community care settings, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
Strong skills in assisting with ADLs and providing compassionate patient care tailored to individual needs
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when required
Experience working with people with disabilities or special needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder or hospice care patients
Competence in meal preparation aligned with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines
Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining flexibility for changing needs
Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engaging empathetically with clients and their families
Certifications such as CPR and first aid are highly desirable; ongoing training in nursing support or social work is a plus
