Full Job Description

Job Summary: Come join us as part of the Visiting Angels Team and work closely with our awesome caregivers and wonderful office staff to ensure the safe and efficient provision of medication services for our wonderful care recipients :-) Duties include overall responsibility for our medication administration program, performing intake assessments and introduction meetings, supervisory visits to the clients' home, communicating with the clients' doctor and other healthcare professionals, caregiver training/competency evaluations and RN oversight. Creation of policy and procedures will be an important responsibility for this position. In addition, the Visiting Angels RN will occasionally be asked to provide after-hours/weekend on-call duty rotation. This position does require traveling within the counties that we serve (Benton, Linn, Marion, Polk and Lincoln). Our company website is: www.VisitingAngels.com/AlbanyOR

Qualifications:

Current RN license through OSBN.
Must have strong customer service focus and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Must have a pleasant telephone presence that conveys warmth, enthusiasm, and friendliness.
Must be able to think quickly and use creative solutions when needed.
Must have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to read, write, and follow written & verbal instructions competently.
Must be able to use a computer to run office applications, such as Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, etc) and e-mail. Must be able to use the computer to find files and print out forms. Must be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard. Visiting Angels will provide training on their specific software applications.
Must have good typing skills and the ability to maintain accurate schedules, notes and records.
Must demonstrate a sense of trustworthiness and ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive client, employee, and other agency information.
Must dress appropriately and present a professional image, appropriate for the position.
Must have at least two (2) satisfactory references from previous employers (not family members).
Must meet all Agency requirements, including but not limited to passing a thorough criminal background check, social security number verification and pre-employment drug screen.
Must have a sincere interest and desire to work with the elderly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Visiting Angels medication services program, to include creation and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures.
Assess, establish and oversee the medication regimen for care recipients.
Perform care supervisory visits for care recipients in accordance with the OAR’s.
Overall responsibility for caregiver medication training program.
Perform Client Intake Assessments and Caregiver Introduction Meetings.
Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of after-hours/weekend on-call.
Participate as a member of the Visiting Angels Quality Improvement and Safety committee (QIS).
Review and make recommendations during investigation/reviews of medication discrepancies.
Participate in staff meetings and other company meetings, as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
