Full Job Description

We are seeking the right person to fill our opening Sales associate position. This is a full time customer service position responsible for getting the bakery store ready to open in the morning by trying up pastries, filling displays with fresh baked goods, putting together special orders, making coffee and opening the customer space. Throughout your shift your duties would focus on waiting on customers, answering phones, taking future orders and keeping the bakery displays stocked.

We are open Tuesday through Saturday. For this position, ability to begin work by 7am and availability to work Saturdays is a must.

We are a long-time local bakery with a loyal customer base. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring an organized and efficient store environment. Your ability to communicate effectively and engage with customers will contribute to a positive shopping experience, driving sales and fostering customer loyalty.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
Process transactions accurately using the POS system, ensuring efficient cash handling.
Aquire and maintain knowledge of products, sales, and product features to effectively sell items.
Supervise stock levels and assist in inventory management, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and organized.
Provide support in training new staff members on store policies and procedures.
Communicate with team members to ensure a cohesive work environment and address customer inquiries promptly.
Perform basic math calculations for transactions and inventory counts.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the store.

Experience

Previous experience in a grocery store, retail environment, restuarant, bakery, or coffee shop is preferred but not required.
Enjoy interacting with customers is essential.
Strong cash handling skills with familiarity in operating POS systems.
Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
Ability to sell products effectively while providing excellent customer service.
