Full Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) position is available at an Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This opportunity offers a 1-year contract with potential for extension or direct hire, providing stability and a pathway to permanent employment. The role is per diem and requires availability Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, totaling 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge.
Perform thorough chart reviews and maintain accurate documentation.
Verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and safety.
Fill prescriptions when pharmacy technicians are unavailable.
Complete internal reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel.
Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Work independently due to limited technician support.
Limited patient interaction unless specifically requested.
No billing or insurance processing responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history.
3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience required.
Prior experience with substance abuse or opioid treatment centers is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and reliably.
