Professional Lawn Care Technician – Elite Mowing Team
Little Foot Lawn Care – Mowing Division
Location: Falls Church, VA near the Mosaic District; servicing surrounding areas within approximately a 10-mile radius
Position: Full-Time, Seasonal (March–December)
Starting Pay: $18.00/hour with opportunity for growth
Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week with potential overtime. Monday–Saturday availability required. No Sundays.
WE ARE HIRING IMMEDIATELY
Little Foot Lawn Care is looking for an experienced lawn care professional to join our Elite Mowing Team.
This position is specifically for our Mowing Division and is focused on professional residential lawn mowing and maintenance—not landscape installation.
We are building an elite mowing team known for clean cuts, sharp edges, detailed trimming, efficient work, professional equipment handling, and consistently excellent results.
If you already know how to professionally mow, trim, edge, and blow off residential properties—and you take pride in leaving every lawn looking sharp—we want to hear from you.
Professional mowing experience is strongly preferred, and experienced candidates will receive priority.
Starting Pay & Growth
Starting pay is $18/hour.
New team members begin at $18/hour while we evaluate their real-world mowing ability, quality of work, efficiency, reliability, equipment handling, and professionalism.
There is room for increased pay and greater responsibility for team members who demonstrate that they can consistently perform at Little Foot's standards.
We are looking for people who take pride in their work, want to become excellent at their craft, and want the opportunity to grow with a professional lawn care company.
What You'll Do
- Professionally mow residential lawns using commercial-quality, all-electric lawn care equipment
- Produce clean, consistent mowing patterns and maintain excellent cut quality
- Trim accurately around trees, landscape beds, fences, structures, and other obstacles
- Create clean, professional edges along sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and other hard surfaces
- Thoroughly blow grass clippings and debris from hard surfaces before leaving each property
- Complete assigned properties efficiently while maintaining our quality standards
- Transition into professional leaf removal during the fall season
- Drive a company vehicle safely between properties on an assigned route
- Track job and travel time using our task management application
- Keep equipment batteries charged and properly manage our mobile charging system
- Maintain equipment by cleaning mower decks, removing debris, inspecting equipment, and sharpening mower blades
- Communicate professionally with teammates, supervisors, and clients
- Perform other mowing-division duties as assigned
Professional Lawn Care Experience
We are specifically looking for candidates with professional mowing or grounds maintenance experience working for a lawn care company, landscaping company, groundskeeping company, property maintenance company, or similar professional operation.
This position is not intended for someone learning professional lawn care for the first time. We are looking for candidates who have previously mowed and maintained lawns as part of their regular paid work and are comfortable working through multiple properties during a professional mowing route.
You should already know how to safely and efficiently operate:
- Lawn mowers
- String trimmers
- Edgers
- Leaf blowers
Professional mowing is more than simply cutting grass. We expect our mowing technicians to understand cut quality, mowing patterns, trimming accuracy, clean edging, property cleanup, equipment care, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Previous professional mowing or grounds maintenance experience is strongly preferred, and candidates with direct professional mowing experience will receive priority.
Experience primarily in landscape installation, planting, mulching, gardening, construction, or general outdoor labor does not substitute for professional mowing experience unless your previous position also involved regularly mowing and maintaining properties.
Qualified candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their professional mowing, trimming, edging, and equipment-operation skills during the hiring process.
