Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator / Machinist A specializing in HAAS machinery to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines, primarily HAAS CNC milling and lathe equipment. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-precision metal components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing processes within a dynamic environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Set up CNC machines, including HAAS milling machines and lathes, ensuring proper tooling and fixture installation.
Program CNC equipment using G-code and M-code, incorporating CAM software and SolidWorks or CAD for part design interpretation.
Operate CNC machinery with precision, monitoring operations to maintain tight tolerances using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measurement instruments.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts that meet specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and adjustments to optimize performance.
Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes utilizing CNC quality inspection techniques and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, machine setup, or programming errors; make necessary adjustments.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspection results for quality control records.
Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design modifications using CAD software like SolidWorks.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and manufacturing standards at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience operating HAAS CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CNC G-code programming and M-code editing; familiarity with Fanuc controls is advantageous.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and GD&T principles.
Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus but not mandatory.
Skilled in CAM programming software; experience with SolidWorks or other CAD platforms preferred.
Familiarity with machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling management.
Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
Experience with measurement devices including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions.
Ability to perform manual machining operations when necessary on lathes or mills.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control during production processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
