Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dietary Manager to lead our food service operations within a healthcare or senior living environment. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of dietary services, ensuring that nutritional needs are met with excellence, safety, and compliance. Your leadership will foster a positive team atmosphere while maintaining high standards for food quality, safety, and regulatory adherence. Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the dietary department, including food service teams, ensuring efficient daily operations and high-quality service delivery
Develop, implement, and oversee care plans that incorporate nutritional assessments and personalized dietary strategies for residents or patients
Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, food safety standards, and health code requirements across the facility
Coordinate food production processes to meet dietary needs while maintaining budgetary targets and controlling costs
Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition and physiology to tailor meal plans effectively
Oversee food service management tasks such as menu planning, inventory control, and food safety management using electronic health records (EHR) systems
Lead staff training on topics such as tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluation protocols, and health coaching techniques
Supervise the preparation and presentation of meals to ensure nutritional value, food safety, and aesthetic appeal are consistently maintained
Monitor team performance through regular evaluations, fostering leadership development and team management skills
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into overall care plans for residents or patients

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare settings with a strong background in dietary department management
Expertise in patient assessment, clinical nutrition, and physiology to support individualized care plans
Knowledge of food service health code compliance and food safety management practices
Skilled in managing food production processes, managing budgets, and controlling costs effectively
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to nutrition care
Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising food service teams and managing staff performance
Excellent understanding of acute care environments and the unique dietary needs they entail
Ability to coordinate diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition and implement appropriate interventions
Knowledge of health regulation policies relevant to food service operations in healthcare settings
Competence in managing food service teams with a focus on teamwork, supervision, and staff development
Experience in managing food safety protocols, including handling tube feeding procedures when necessary
Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating residents or patients on nutrition-related topics
