Remodeling Sales / Estimator
RemodelCo · Salt Lake City, Utah
Full-time · Base salary + commission · On-target earnings ~$85,000–$115,000
This is a remodeling estimating and sales role. This is not pushy sales in anyway. The sales aspect is being professional, prompt, very responsive, and winning deals through showing clients that we provide a better client experience than other contractors.
This position can work either from home or from our office, but will need to do 1-2 in home visits to clients homes per day.
About RemodelCo
RemodelCo is a growing residential remodeling company serving the greater Salt Lake City area. We specialize in basement finishes, kitchen remodels, and bathroom renovations.
We are growing because we obsess over the client experience — clear communication, no surprises, and quality work. That belief drives everything we do, and it's the standard every team member is held to.
We're hiring a Salesperson / Estimator to own the front half of every project: from the first inbound call through a signed, accurately priced job that's ready to build.
The Role
This is a combined sales and estimating role. You are the client's primary point of contact from their very first inquiry all the way through material selection. You'll run the sales conversation, build the estimate, send it, follow up relentlessly, handle change requests, and shepherd the client through material selection — then hand a clean, fully-scoped job off to our production team.
You don't need to be a master estimator on day one. We can teach you our estimating system, and every estimate is reviewed for accuracy before it goes out while you ramp. What we can't teach is the thing we need most: genuine sales ability, urgency, and a client-first instinct. You do need to have general construction and remodeling knowledge on top of the sales skills.
You'll work closely with our Head of Construction, who is your technical resource and the final decision-maker on specifications. He'll go to estimate appointments with you and give you everything you need to price a job correctly.
What You'll Do
Own inbound leads. Answer inbound inquiries quickly, build rapport, and schedule estimate appointments.
Pre-qualify clients. Talk through budget and pricing expectations on the phone before the appointment so we invest time in the right opportunities.
Run estimate appointments. Attend appointments alongside Craig, lead the client conversation, and capture the scope and details needed to price the job.
Build accurate estimates. Prepare the estimate, pulling any specifications or technical input you need from Craig, who is the ultimate source of truth.
Get quotes out fast. Complete estimates promptly, ensure they're accurate, and communicate and send them to the client. (During ramp-up, estimates are reviewed before sending.)
Own all follow-up. Drive every follow-up and keep the deal moving. No client slips through the cracks.
Handle change requests. Manage all client-requested changes — added scope, upgrades, removals — working with Craig as needed on specifications.
Source subcontractor and vendor quotes. Request and gather specific quotes from subs and vendors (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, countertops, etc.) when a job's scope requires them, follow up to get them in on time, and build them into the estimate.
Shepherd material selection. Stay the client's point of contact through material selection, since final selections finalize the price (materials can move the price up or down from the original quote).
Hand off clean jobs. Once the project is approved, materials are selected, and it's ready to start work or permitting, hand the project off to the production team (Craig, Preston B., and Cass).
