TITLE: Consumer Lending Associate
DEPARTMENT: 915 – Consumer Lending
JOB SUMMARY:
The Consumer Lending Associate is responsible for performing loan processing and/or closing, assisting in maintaining assigned officer accounts, and general account servicing responsibilities associated with the bank’s consumer loan portfolio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service to internal and external clients.
- Receive and respond to telephone and in-person inquiries from consumer loan clients.

Promote a team environment by assisting other team members with internal or customer inquiries or issues, and by performing other duties in the absence of others within the department, or in times of unusual activity.

Manage and maintain confidential customer information.

Assist loan officers with a wide range of servicing/monitoring duties related to loans.

Assist the loan officer from the inception of a loan request including, but not limited to, gathering credit application and financial information, requesting appraisals and/or appraisal reviews, ordering title work, requesting flood determinations, preparing and mailing required relevant early disclosures, and gathering trust or other legal documents.

Assist officers to apply due diligence in compliance with loan policy and approved loan structure for each credit regarding the preparation of consumer loan documentation and make and document necessary loan disbursements.

Accurately input loans into the Laser Pro or other software that is accessed for document preparation.

Generate loan documents accurately for new and renewal loan closings.

Receive initial requests for draws on construction loans and assists the loan officer in the fund disbursement. Assists the Loan Officer in planning and completing construction inspections.

Review files after closing to ensure that all documents are signed and all checks and/or wires are prepared for fund disbursement, required payoffs, etc.

Follow-up to ensure bank’s security interest is protected through ensuring proper recording of liens, security filings, receipt of final title policies, etc.

Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge of internal procedures, various systems and/or web-based applications used but not limited to Laser Pro, Aurora Documents.

Adhere to all relevant regulations for consumer loan compliance, Bank Secrecy Act Policy/Program and Procedures, HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act), Flood Determination guidelines, TRID, Bank loan policy and procedures.

Accurate preparation of loan modification agreements, subordination agreements, extensions as applicable.

Assist consumer lending officers on monitoring and processing of all maturing loans in a timely manner.

Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Prior experience in consumer loan processing, closing and/or underwriting desired.

Demonstrated knowledge of lending procedures and regulatory compliance requirements.

Capability to work and collaborate with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and professional manner.
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of projects and tasks.
-
Capability to manage sensitive information and uphold confidentiality.

Capability to utilize various banking software and Microsoft 365 products, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
