Job Overview
Twin Lakes Technology is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support the health, security, reliability, and ongoing improvement of technology environments across assigned K–12 schools and municipal organizations.
This is a senior-level technical position responsible for managing network and systems infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, identifying and mitigating risks, supporting projects, and serving as an escalation resource for the Twin Lakes Technology team.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with customers, vendors, Directors, and team members.
On-Site & Travel Requirement
This position is primarily on-site and may be dispatched to different customer locations throughout the workweek based on customer needs, projects, and operational priorities. Regular travel between customer sites is an essential function of the position. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation. Occasional after-hours support may be required.
Position Expectations
The System Administrator is expected to take ownership of the health, security, and reliability of assigned customer environments. This includes:
- Managing and monitoring network and systems infrastructure.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating technical and security risks.
- Conducting technology and security audits.
- Responding to complex technical issues both remotely and on-site.
- Serving as an escalation point for Level 2 Technicians and Virtual Help Desk staff.
- Providing technical recommendations and participating in procurement decisions.
- Collaborating with third-party vendors when necessary.
- Supporting customer and internal leadership meetings as a technical consultant.
- Keeping the Director and Virtual Help Desk informed of significant issues and service-impacting events.
- Taking ownership of assigned customer environments and the outcomes of technical decisions.
Skills & Experience
- Advanced knowledge of hardware, software, systems administration, and networking.
- Strong understanding of network security and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience supporting K–12 and/or municipal technology environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding when to escalate issues.
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable traveling between multiple customer locations.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Advanced knowledge of Zendesk and ticket management.
- Experience working with a System Administrator team and contributing to technical projects.
Core Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot complex network and systems issues involving connectivity, cabling, switches, routing, IP addressing, wireless, and security.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VoIP, switches, routers, firewalls, web filters, and wireless infrastructure.
- Monitor and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Google Admin, Microsoft 365, Azure, MDM, backups, and RMM systems.
- Support platforms including Google Workspace, Clever, CJIS-related systems, and municipal applications.
- Perform migrations, access point installations, and cable termination as needed.
- Maintain expertise in assigned customer environments and technology platforms.
Security & Compliance
- Conduct technology and security audits.
- Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities and security risks.
- Develop, document, and enforce security best practices.
- Review and test web-filtering and other security controls.
- Support security assessments, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation efforts.
Team Leadership
- Provide escalation support and mentorship to Level 2 Technicians and other team members.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices across Twin Lakes Technology.
- Provide constructive feedback and support the professional growth of team members.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex issues across the organization.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in help desk, systems administration, networking, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent professional experience and demonstrated technical expertise may be considered in place of a degree.
Minimum Standards Required
The position involves light physical demands, including lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally and/or 10 lbs. frequently. The role requires prolonged periods of visual concentration and moderate eye, hand, and foot coordination.
The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing; read and interpret technical materials; apply rational problem-solving skills; and follow and provide oral and written instructions.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
