Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures. The DON ensures the highest degree of quality resident care while promoting a positive and engaged work culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all nursing operations within the facility
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Drive clinical excellence and quality improvement initiatives
Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain nursing staff
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes
Monitor quality measures, infection prevention, risk management, and regulatory compliance
Manage staffing, scheduling, labor utilization, and departmental budgets
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care
Support survey readiness and successful regulatory outcomes
Partner with facility leadership to achieve operational and clinical goals

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience
Prior Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute setting preferred
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state regulations, and survey processes
Demonstrated success in staff development and team leadership
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Passion for delivering exceptional resident care
