About Us
Sklar Center for Restorative Medicine is an established naturopathic medicine practice in Long Beach, California, providing highly personalized, comprehensive care through a membership-based model. Founded in 2007, the Center has a long history of helping patients address complex and chronic health concerns through an individualized, whole-person approach to medicine.
Our philosophy is rooted in understanding the interconnected factors that influence a patient’s health rather than focusing solely on individual symptoms. We take the time to understand each patient’s full health story, identify underlying contributors to their concerns, and develop thoughtful, individualized treatment strategies that incorporate naturopathic medicine alongside conventional medical care when appropriate.
Our clinical areas of focus include bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, women’s and men’s health, thyroid health, gastrointestinal health, metabolic and weight management, autoimmune conditions, environmental illness, cardiovascular and cognitive health, and preventive medicine.
Our membership model allows our doctors to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and provide the time, attention, follow-through, and continuity of care needed to address complex and evolving health needs. Collaboration is an important part of our practice, with providers working together to evaluate challenging cases and develop comprehensive treatment strategies.
At Sklar Center, our goal extends beyond helping patients manage symptoms. We strive to be trusted advocates and partners in their health, helping them restore function, improve quality of life, and build a strong foundation for long-term health.
We are equally committed to creating a collaborative clinical environment where our doctors can continue to grow, learn from one another, and practice naturopathic medicine at a high level.
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Naturopathic Doctor to join our collaborative clinical team. The ideal candidate is an experienced clinician who is passionate about providing comprehensive, individualized naturopathic care and developing meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
This position requires a strong clinical foundation in naturopathic medicine, with experience in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and an interest in caring for both women and men across different stages of life. The ideal candidate should be comfortable evaluating and managing patients with complex and chronic health conditions, including environmentally related illness and mold exposure, as well as interpreting comprehensive laboratory and diagnostic testing and developing individualized treatment plans.
Treatment plans may incorporate nutritional and lifestyle interventions, botanical medicine, supplementation, prescription medications, hormone therapy, intravenous (IV) nutrient therapy, and other naturopathic treatment modalities as clinically appropriate.
As a Naturopathic Doctor at Sklar Center, you will independently manage your patient panel while also working closely with our other naturopathic doctors and clinical support team. Our membership-based model provides the opportunity to follow patients over time, continually reassess their needs, and adjust treatment strategies as their health evolves.
We are looking for a naturopathic doctor who values clinical excellence, thoughtful patient care, collaboration, continued learning, and being an active part of the growth and long-term vision of Sklar Center for Restorative Medicine. Experience with intravenous therapy and current IV Therapy Certification are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories, review of prior records and laboratory findings, and physical examinations when clinically indicated.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on naturopathic principles, current clinical evidence, and each patient’s health goals and needs.
- Evaluate and manage a broad range of health concerns, including hormone imbalances, thyroid conditions, metabolic and gastrointestinal concerns, and complex chronic illness, including environmentally related illness and mold exposure.
- Provide and manage bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for both women and men, including appropriate laboratory monitoring and ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Utilize a range of therapeutic approaches, including clinical nutrition, lifestyle medicine, botanical medicine, nutritional supplementation, prescription medications, and other naturopathic therapies as clinically appropriate.
- Incorporate intravenous (IV) nutrient therapy into patient care when appropriate and within the naturopathic doctor’s training and certification.
- Monitor patient progress, review follow-up laboratory testing, and adjust treatment plans to support optimal clinical outcomes and continuity of care.
Diagnostic & Laboratory Evaluation
- Order and interpret conventional and specialty laboratory testing to support comprehensive patient evaluation and treatment planning.
- Integrate laboratory findings with the patient’s history, symptoms, lifestyle, and clinical presentation rather than treating laboratory values in isolation.
- Maintain appropriate follow-up and monitoring for patients receiving hormone therapy, prescription medications, IV therapy, and other treatments requiring ongoing clinical oversight.
Collaboration & Patient Education
- Collaborate with other naturopathic doctors and clinical support staff on complex cases and comprehensive care strategies.
- Communicate with patients in a clear, compassionate, and educational manner, helping them understand their health concerns, treatment options, and goals.
- Provide practical guidance regarding nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and other lifestyle factors that support long-term health.
- Coordinate care with outside healthcare providers when appropriate to support safe and comprehensive patient care.
Clinical & Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough patient documentation in accordance with clinic policies, professional standards, and California regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with developments in naturopathic medicine, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, IV therapy, and other relevant areas through continuing education and professional development.
- Follow established clinic protocols while contributing clinical insight and recommendations as the practice continues to evolve.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, educational initiatives, and other activities that support a collaborative clinical environment.
- Contribute to patient education, community outreach, and practice growth initiatives as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND/NMD) degree from an accredited naturopathic medical school.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice naturopathic medicine in the state of California, or eligibility to obtain California licensure prior to employment.

- Comfortable evaluating and managing patients with complex and chronic health conditions and coordinating care with other healthcare providers when appropriate.
- Experience ordering and interpreting conventional laboratory testing and incorporating findings into individualized treatment plans.
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to evidence-informed patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate patients, establish trust, and develop long-term therapeutic relationships.
- Ability to independently manage a patient panel while working collaboratively with other naturopathic doctors and clinical support staff.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continued growth as a naturopathic doctor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced training and/or significant clinical experience in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
- IV Therapy Certification and experience providing intravenous nutrient therapy.
- Experience evaluating and treating patients with complex chronic illness, including environmentally related illness and mold exposure.
- Experience with specialty and advanced diagnostic laboratory testing.
- Clinical experience in one or more of the Center’s primary areas of focus, including women’s and men’s health, thyroid disorders, gastrointestinal health, metabolic and weight management, autoimmune conditions, cardiovascular health, cognitive health, and preventive medicine.
