IRONWOOD is recruiting an experienced Environmental & Operations Specialist on behalf of one of our clients in Andrews, TX. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry who can effectively support operational activities while providing environmental and regulatory guidance.
The successful candidate will serve as a key resource for employees, customers, disposal facilities, and company leadership by helping ensure sound environmental practices, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service. SALARY: $100,000-$110,000

Summary:

Essential Functions:

· Provide operational and technical support for Andrews-based operations.
· Assist with waste characterization and waste-handling determinations.
· Apply knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations and hazardous waste characteristics.
· Understand and apply oil and gas Exploration and Production (E&P) waste exemptions and identify when wastes qualify or do not qualify under applicable regulations.
· Review waste profiles, laboratory analytical reports, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), manifests, disposal records, and related environmental documentation.
· Collaborate with customers and disposal facilities to resolve waste-acceptance and profiling issues.
· Support compliance with environmental, safety, DOT, customer, and company requirements.
· Communicate effectively with customers, field personnel, dispatch, sales teams, environmental and safety staff, and company leadership.
· Assist with job coordination and operational problem resolution.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring timely follow-through on assignments.
· Identify operational and environmental challenges and help develop practical solutions.
· Serve as a subject matter resource for employees regarding environmental and operational questions.
· Promote company standards, procedures, and a professional workplace culture.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform the job successfully, the requirements representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required include the following:
- Education/Experience – High school diploma, general educational development credential, or equivalent degree program is required. Prior experience working in Oil & Gas, Waste Management, Environmental Services, or Industrial Services preferred.
- Hazardous Waste Experience – Candidates must have prior experience and a working knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, and working knowledge with Oil and Gas Exploration and Waste (E&P) exemptions.
- Language & Communication – Expresses thoughts verbally and in written form. Exhibits good listening and comprehension. Selects and uses appropriate communication methods. Keeps others adequately informed. Strong communication skills in English are essential. Bilingual (English and Spanish) communication skills are desired.
- Computer Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Planning & Organization – Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently. Plans for additional resources. Integrates changes smoothly. Detail-oriented and works in an organized manner.
