Reports To: Senior Vice President – Credit Administration
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Grade Level: 800
Hours 7/8:30 am – 4/5:30 pm Monday – Friday
Location Ann Arbor, MI 48105
SUMMARY
The Credit Analyst I is responsible for completing commercial credit analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for MBC core values: Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Innovation and Leadership.
Support credit function while maintaining, expanding and building internal and external relationships, resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Analyze credit data and financial statements for small business or less complex transactions to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to current and prospective borrowers.
Complete accurate and timely underwriting documents to submit to loan committees and individuals for approval demonstrating independent judgment, appropriate recommendations, and risk ratings.
Actively partner with internal and external Relationship Managers in the negotiation of loan terms and structure requirements.
Maintain knowledge and awareness of NCUA regulations directly impacting commercial loan underwriting.
Create and maintain credit files in accordance with format and retention guidelines.
Partner with Documentation and Portfolio Management departments to properly transition loans.
Provide guidance, training, and support to Financial Analysts and Interns.
Actively participate with and support Credit Analysts and Portfolio Managers in the preparation of periodic reviews of borrower status, compliance and document findings in various risk reporting formats.
Perform other credit and risk management duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal credit training program and at least one year of commercial credit analysis experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before members or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Strong experience with spreadsheet programs including near expert Excel knowledge and other Microsoft Office solutions.

*MBC operates within a flex time environment, allowing reasonable employee discretion in start and end times. Certain functions may be supported from a work at home environment as agreed to by the MBC president.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
