Full Job Description

Summary: Set ups, operates, and adjusts all blanking equipment while maintaining acceptable quality and productivity standards by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Loads/unloads materials as necessary to keep blanking equipment running at maximum levels.*

2. Sets up work area for efficient processing and maximum throughput of raw and cut materials.*

3. Prepares machines and material for staged jobs.*

4. Ensures that parts are quickly deburred, counted, and stacked in the best possible fashion for the following operation.*

5. Ensures that parts are quickly delivered to the following operation.*

6. Monitors machine operation and quality of cut, and adjusts machines as necessary to ensure acceptable quality.*

7. Reads, understands, and implements all information and instructions included on job travelers and technical drawings.*

8. Verifies dimensional and aesthetic conformance of components being produced.*

9. Trains and oversees the work produced by blanking operators, and communicates issues/concerns to the Supervisor.*

10. Performs assigned tasks at a rate which achieves maximum departmental throughput.*

11. Responsible for proper completion of all manufacturing and inspection documentation as required by company policies.*

12. Identifies visual and dimensional defects and ensures that potential problems are effectively communicated to the Department Supervisor.*

13. Participates in developing new, efficient, and effective processes for new as well as existing product lines.

14. Contributes to any team with which you are working to ensure consistent product and cooperative communication.

15. Identifies and/or cooperates with potential opportunities for efficiency/productivity increases, and cost reduction strategies.

16. Maintains a clean and organized work area.

17. Responsible for absolute compliance with safety and PPE requirements.

18. Demonstrates a drive to assume the company’s commitments as your own and fulfill them with a sense of pride and urgency.

19. Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of data entry and intranet.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment:

· Forklift

· Overhead crane

· Various hand and power tools

· Caliper, tape measure, height gage, and other measuring devices

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

· Good written and oral communication skills

· Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment

· Ability to stay focused and productive without immediate supervision

· A visible drive to perform beyond the minimum job requirements and expectations

· Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of relevant blanking equipment and programming software

· Ability to keep equipment functioning at an expert level

· Basic understanding of commonly used sheet metal alloys and their properties as relative to blanking cutting and deburring

· Ability to repeatedly reproduce blanking-cut component quality as good as or better than minimal specifications

· Desire to take ownership of your decisions and take responsibility for their outcome

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.
