Job Summary
The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for assisting the Life Enrichment Coordinator in coordinating and conducting all internal and external resident activities. This includes assisting with creating the monthly activity calendar, arranging outside entertainment, assessing resident preferences and guiding programs to meet their needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
First and foremost, be a Brentwood Grove Senior Living brand and culture ambassador. It is a requirement to learn and communicate Brentwood Grove Senior Living’s Values, Mission, and Culture Keys while present in the communities.
1. Conduct and participate in activities to suit a variety of interests and skill levels for the residents using resident comments and input
2. Effectively encourage and actively promote resident participation in activities through internal, formal and informal communication networks
3. Assist with the monthly calendar; Print, mail and post to keep all residents and the community aware of the activities going on
4. Participate in the Dining Room Ambassador Program daily
5. Be aware for shifts in preferences, values and attitudes of the residents, and communicate those shifts with the Life Enrichment Coordinator
6. Responsible for fostering teamwork with co-workers, showing initiative in overcoming obstacles, taking actions which assists others beyond job responsibilities, and having a positive impact on co-workers, residents and visitors
7. Conduct yourself and the business at all times so as not to distract from, or to reflect adversely on the reputation of the Community
8. Reports to work in a safe manner and understands that potentially hazardous conditions are managed; Compliance with Safety Committee Standards is required
9. Performs other duties as needed

Education and/or Experience
Prior experience of working with Seniors and/or in the area of conducting social group activities to enrich the livelihood of the individuals
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively with fellow employees of the Community; Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; keep adequate records
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Demonstrated ability to use Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, on-line employee training programs, beginner level newsletter publishing software.

Blood borne pathogens require the physical abilities necessary to clean a blood spill or any other spill that may occur in this type of environment
Other Considerations and Requirements
Current and valid state drivers license or current and/or valid CDL license as required.
Driving record must be in good standing, free of any moving violations and acceptable to insurance carrier.
Tuberculosis (TB) certificates as required by State.
CPR and First Aid Certification as required by State.
Criminal Background Check cleared.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
