Dietary Cook-Temporary (Shift 5:00a.m.-1:00p.m.)

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals in a timely manner while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and safety. Your expertise will contribute to providing satisfying and visually appealing meals for our community, ensuring a positive dining experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, season, and cook a variety of foods including meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, soups, desserts, modified diet foods, and casseroles according to standard recipes.
Prepare all food in sufficient quantities to meet service requirements.
Coordinate food preparation timing to align with service schedules.
Estimate food requirements and efficiently utilize leftovers to minimize waste.
Present food in an attractive and palatable manner.
Handle, store, and refrigerate food properly to ensure safety and quality.
Standardize recipes and determine the appropriate number of portions needed for each meal.
Request daily food and supply orders to ensure adequate stock for service.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a institutional or large-scale setting.
Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing menu requirements and service schedules.
