OPPORTUNITY Do you have a passion for numbers and a keen eye for cost analysis, specifically in the field of commercial construction? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Framing/Drywall Estimator to join our team at Design Drywall West, a trusted leader in Arizona's construction industry for nearly 50 years. As a Framing/Drywall Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our commercial projects by providing precise and comprehensive cost estimations.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We're seeking a detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 7* years of experience using On Screen Takeoff* and Quick Bid software. Preferred experience in the field as a framer or drywaller is a plus. Below are the main responsibilities of the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost Estimation: Accurately estimate framing and drywall costs for commercial construction projects, ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
- Estimating Workflow Management: Oversee and report on the bidding and estimating process, ensuring efficiency and transparency.
- Bid Response: Thoroughly review and respond to RFPs and other bid requests, demonstrating a deep understanding of project requirements.
- Subcontractor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and maintain up-to-date data on construction and material cost trends.
- Resource Identification: Identify and maintain relationships with material and labor resources in Arizona.
- Project Plan Review: Review project plans and conduct cost reviews to identify potential risks and errors.
- Post-construction Analysis: Perform post-construction analysis to verify estimate accuracy.
WHAT WE'LL ASK YOU TO DO As a Framing/Drywall Estimator, you will be expected to:
- Manage multiple projects and work independently in a detail-oriented, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
- Dive into project cost to identify risks and potential for error.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness, accountability, and outstanding attention to detail.
- Respond effectively and appropriately to feedback.
- Provide quality control over cost estimates and overall project costs.
- Interact with field operations, finance, and other Estimators to solve pricing challenges.
- Organize detailed cost data and project cost history.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- A minimum of 7 years of experience using On Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid software in the Framing/Drywall field.
- Preferred experience in the field as a framer or drywaller.
- Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and a customer service attitude.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and flexible environment.
- A technically minded individual with a demonstrated ability to understand, document, improve, and automate processes.
- Job costing and revenue recognition experience are a plus.
