Apricity provides residential and transitional treatment, along with sober living, to meet our clients wherever they are on their recovery journey. Apricity's gender-specific treatment is provided at Mooring House for men and at Casa Clare for women. Your Job as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

The Substance Abuse Counselor is instrumental in our client’s treatment and recovery from substance use disorder. Substance Abuse Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions. The Substance Abuse Counselor will plan, oversee, facilitate and document their client’s treatment.

Your Responsibilities as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

· Conduct individual counseling sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and document as required;

· Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required;

· Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions;

· Responsible for initial Biopsychosocial assessments, as well as follow up assessments;

· Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned client;

· Ensure all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner;

· May act as a liaison between referral sources and client;

· Provide crisis intervention to client, as needed;

· May plan for continuing care for assigned clients;

· Provide case management duties for client, ensuring individualized quality care;

· Evaluate client needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed; and,

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Qualifications as aSubstance Abuse Counselor:

· SAC or CSAC

Experience:

· Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process (Preferred)
