The Hospital Controller is a key leadership opportunity in a highly respected North Puget Sound area health system seeking a Hospital Controller to guide financial operations, reporting, and internal controls across a mission-driven organization. The Hospital Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Hospital Controller, and serves as a key partner in overall financial strategy and decision-making. This Hospital Controller oversees accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Staff Accountants, and Senior Accountants, providing both technical direction and day-to-day leadership. The Hospital Controller also works closely with operational leaders, department directors, and the Finance Committee, supporting executive-level reporting and board-facing financial materials.

The Hospital Controller leads a hospital-based accounting and finance operations team that supports full-cycle financial management including close processes, payroll accuracy, and accounts payable workflows. In this Hospital Controller role, the environment is fast-moving and detail-heavy, with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and internal service to clinical and administrative departments. The team includes experienced accounting professionals who rely on structured leadership, clear communication, and steady prioritization to support hospital-wide operations. The Hospital Controller will step into a setting where collaboration across departments is frequent, and precision is expected daily.

The Hospital Controller is responsible for overseeing month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements are accurate and delivered on time. This Hospital Controller also leads payroll accounting oversight, ensuring proper general ledger alignment, strong internal controls, and collaboration with Talent Management to maintain accurate employee data and reduce risk. On the accounts payable side, the Hospital Controller ensures timely, accurate invoice processing, strengthens approval workflows, and reduces errors through improved systems and controls.
