Full Job Description

Private Security Patrol Officer

An Orange County, NY based organization is seeking a highly experienced, dependable, and security-focused Private Security Patrol Officer to provide a visible, proactive security presence across a private corporate campus and surrounding properties. This full-time, live-out position is ideal for a seasoned law enforcement professional who is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment through routine patrols, strong observational skills, and sound judgment.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted member of the organization's security team, responsible for protecting people, property, and assets through preventative patrol, rapid incident response, and close coordination with leadership and local emergency services when necessary. This is a hands-on position requiring professionalism, discretion, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in dynamic situations.

Unlike a traditional executive protection role, this position is focused on maintaining the overall security of the organization's facilities through a highly visible patrol presence, risk identification, and proactive incident prevention.

This is a full-time, year-round position consisting primarily of a Monday through Friday schedule, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response as operational needs dictate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols throughout corporate facilities, grounds, parking areas, and surrounding properties.
Maintain a highly visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity and ensure a safe environment for employees, executives, and visitors.
Monitor buildings, entrances, gates, parking areas, and other sensitive locations for suspicious or unauthorized activity.
Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, and security-related events.
Investigate suspicious activity, document incidents, and prepare comprehensive written reports.
Enforce company security policies, procedures, and access control protocols.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and emergency responders when necessary.
Perform security inspections and identify vulnerabilities or safety concerns, making recommendations for corrective action.
Assist with executive arrivals, special events, and heightened security situations as needed.
Maintain situational awareness while conducting routine patrols and proactively identifying potential risks before they escalate.
Monitor CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security technologies as required.
Support emergency preparedness initiatives, evacuation procedures, and crisis response planning.
Maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion while interacting with employees, executives, contractors, and visitors.
Perform additional security-related responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding references from current and previous employers.
Minimum of seven years of law enforcement experience.
Prior service as a New York State Police Trooper, New York City Police Department (NYPD) Officer, Detective, Sergeant, or other sworn New York State or New York City law enforcement professional is required.
Retired or former members of New York State Police or the NYPD are strongly encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated experience in patrol operations, incident response, investigations, emergency management, and public safety.
Ability to assess situations quickly, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately under pressure.
Exceptional observational skills, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Strong report writing and documentation skills.
Current CPR/AED certification preferred.
New York State Security Guard License (or ability to obtain) preferred.
Valid New York State driver's license with an exemplary driving record.
Physically capable of extended walking, standing, stair climbing, and outdoor patrol in varying weather conditions.
Comfortable utilizing security technology, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, radios, and mobile reporting platforms.
Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Compensation

Salary: $120,000-$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall background. Discretionary performance-based annual bonus potential.
