Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registration Clerk to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process. Your responsibilities will include managing patient intake, verifying insurance information, updating electronic health records (EHR), and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong clerical skills, familiarity with medical administrative support, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment while utilizing your medical office experience and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent front desk customer service and phone etiquette.
Collect, review, and verify patient information, including insurance details, demographic data, and medical history.
Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or other EHR platforms to input and update patient records accurately.
Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software while managing multi-line phone systems.
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Process medical billing and collections related to patient accounts, ensuring adherence to Medicare, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards.
Maintain organized medical records through filing and electronic health records management while ensuring data security.
Assist with clinical documentation review, care plan updates, and support administrative tasks like typing reports or entering data into Microsoft Office applications.
Support the clinic’s daily operations by handling intake procedures, verifying insurance coverage, and managing office supplies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in medical office administration or healthcare clerical roles with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
Strong understanding of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and clinical confidentiality policies.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per minute preferred.
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
Previous clinic experience or medical receptionist background highly desirable.
Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor and phone etiquette.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
