BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

-BA Accounting, Finance, or a related field; non-profit experience preferred. 3-5 years supervisory experience in a business office.

-Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, good communication skills, knowledge of available resources, supervisory skills, self-motivated.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting functions, manage financial compliance, and drive strategic financial planning. Your expertise will help us maintain transparency, optimize cash flow, and uphold regulatory standards across our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence our financial health while working within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
Oversee all aspects of accounting systems, ensuring accurate data entry, system integrity, and timely reporting.
Supervise the finance team in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting functions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations.
Conduct cost accounting analysis to monitor expenses and support budgeting efforts.
Oversee cash management activities including treasury management, forecasting, and liquidity planning.
Prepare detailed financial reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial report writing.
Lead audits by external auditors, facilitating regulatory reporting and ensuring adherence to governmental accounting standards.
Implement best practices in financial software utilization such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline operations.

Requirements

Proven experience managing accounting teams within a corporate or nonprofit setting with strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles.
Extensive understanding of IFRS, GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting standards.
Demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting practices.
Proficiency with financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent systems; advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential.
Strong background in financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
Experience with budgeting processes, forecasting models, and financial management strategies.
Excellent communication skills for clear financial report writing and presentation to diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
