Full Job Description

K & M Engineering is accepting applications for a CNC Milling Machine Operator on our first shift. We are a well-established precision machine shop that manufactures high-quality, close-tolerance components for demanding industries.

This is an operator position. CNC setup and programming experience are not required. The operator will run previously established jobs while following work instructions, inspection requirements, and company quality procedures.

Responsibilities

Load and unload parts from CNC vertical milling machines.
Operate machines using established programs, tooling, and setup instructions.
Inspect parts during production using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
Verify that parts meet blueprint and job requirements.
Complete required production and quality documentation, including job travelers, operator check sheets, and inspection records.
Deburr, clean, and finish parts as required.
Monitor machines and parts for potential quality or production problems.
Notify the supervisor or setup machinist when adjustments, tooling changes, or assistance are needed.
Keep the assigned work area clean, organized, and safe.
Assist other employees when needed to support production goals.
Follow all company safety and quality procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

At least two years of CNC machine operating or related manufacturing experience.
Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance.
Dependable attendance and good communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating CNC vertical milling machines.
Experience working with close-tolerance machined components.
Familiarity with job travelers, inspection reports, and manufacturing documentation.
Experience in a precision machine shop environment.
