Role Overview

Ceremony: Bench & Larder is seeking an experienced service industry professional to join our kitchen team in Talent, Oregon.

Brought to Talent from the folks at Cerberus Coffee, Ceremony offers a larger community gathering space and a more expansive food menu while maintaining Cerberus' mission of inclusion, intention, and thoughtful hospitality.

The Sandwich Line position is responsible for the preparation and execution of food during service, as well as maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the kitchen. This role works closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is prepared with care, consistency, and attention to quality.

We are looking for a kind and thoughtful person who is excited about working with local and seasonal ingredients and enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team. The ideal candidate is dependable, communicates clearly, takes pride in their work, and can remain organized and focused in a busy service environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service

Prepare bagel and focaccia sandwiches to order for dine-in and to-go service
Prepare schmear, vegetables, ferments, and other ingredients for daily sandwich line needs
Execute food consistently according to Ceremony standards
Maintain awareness of ticket flow and prioritize tasks appropriately during service
Work efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail

Kitchen Operations

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sandwich line and shared kitchen spaces
Keep workstations stocked and prepared for service
Complete daily and weekly prep as needed
Assist with dishes and general kitchen cleaning
Follow food safety and sanitation standards
Communicate ingredient, equipment, or operational needs to the kitchen team

Teamwork & Communication

Collaborate with a small kitchen team on the daily and weekly needs of the restaurant
Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers
Be willing to assist other team members when needed
Contribute to a positive, supportive, and inclusive work environment
Be able to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a shared kitchen space

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

Stand and work for up to 8 hours per shift
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Perform repetitive food preparation and cleaning tasks

This is a part-time position.

Wage starts at $17/hr + tips. 401k is available after 6 months.
