SALES MANAGER | $100,000 Base Salary + Up to $100,000 in Performance Incentives
Lead the Team. Own the Number. Coach in the Field.
Bo Lacey Construction is looking for a proven, high-energy Sales Manager to lead our growing residential sales organization.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to develop salespeople, create accountability, improve close rates, and build a winning sales culture.
Our sales organization currently includes approximately 16–20 sales professionals and is continuing to grow, including our rapidly expanding bath division.
- We are not looking for someone who wants to manage sales from behind a desk.
- We are looking for someone who wants to be where the selling is happening.
We need someone who will ride with salespeople, coach in real time, study the numbers, identify problems, develop talent, and help good salespeople become great ones.
And when necessary, someone who can still sit across the kitchen table from a homeowner and close the job themselves.
Why Bo Lacey Construction?
Bo Lacey Construction is an established, locally owned exterior contracting company with a rapidly growing bath division. Our ownership team isn’t sitting in another state or buried behind layers of corporate management.
Ownership is involved in the company every day.
This position reports directly to Kevin Lacey, President of Bo Lacey Construction, giving the Sales Manager direct access to company leadership and the ability to make a meaningful impact on the organization.
You’ll step into a company with:
- A strong flow of company-generated leads
- An established in-home sales process
- A growing sales organization
- A rapidly expanding bath division
- A dedicated corporate sales trainer
- Additional outside professional sales-training support
- An experienced leadership team
- Significant investment in recruiting, training, marketing, and lead generation
- Direct access to ownership and senior leadership
The foundation is already here. We’re looking for someone who can elevate our team.
What You’ll Own
Lead a Growing Sales Team
You’ll lead approximately 16–20 residential sales professionals, with continued hiring planned as the company grows.
- Your job is to know your team.
- Know who’s performing.
- Know who’s struggling.
- Know why.
- And know what you’re doing about it.
You’ll establish clear expectations, recognize strong performance, coach consistently, and address performance issues quickly. We want a leader who sees problems developing early and takes action.
Field Coaching & Ride-Alongs
One of the most important parts of this position is being in the field with the sales team.
You’ll be expected to complete regular ride-alongs and observe full in-home sales presentations.
That includes:
- Riding with new and experienced salespeople
- Observing the full sales process
- Coaching immediately after appointments
- Identifying where sales are breaking down
- Helping salespeople improve their presentations
- Coaching objection handling and closing
- Developing average performers into strong performers
- Continuing to challenge top performers
- Spending additional time with new hires during their ramp-up period
We believe salespeople improve fastest when coaching happens where the selling actually takes place.
If you want to manage sales primarily through emails, reports, and meetings, this probably isn’t the right opportunity.
Own the Sales Number
The Sales Manager will be accountable for overall sales performance. You’ll be expected to understand the numbers, communicate them clearly, and take action when performance isn’t where it needs to be.
Key metrics will include:
- Total sales
- Close rate
- Leads run
- Revenue per appointment
- Average job size
- Individual salesperson performance
- Performance by business segment
- Cancellations
- Financing performance
- Follow-up opportunities
- New-hire ramp-up
- Sales certification
When a number is off, we expect the Sales Manager to ask: Why is this happening, and what are we going to do about it? Then act on the answer.
Lead Our Sales System
Bo Lacey Construction uses a structured 10-step in-home sales process built around a one-day-close philosophy.
You do not need to walk through the door already knowing our exact system.
You do need to be willing to learn it, believe in a repeatable sales process, demonstrate it yourself, and hold the team accountable for following it.
You’ll have support from our corporate sales trainer as well as additional outside professional sales-training resources.
The company invests heavily in training. Your responsibility is making sure that training shows up in the home.
Be Able to Sell
This is a management position, not an individual sales position.
But we believe a great field sales leader should still know how to sell.
You should be comfortable:
- Running an in-home sales appointment
- Demonstrating the company’s sales process
- Building value
- Overcoming objections
- Asking for the business
- Helping with difficult opportunities when appropriate
- Showing a salesperson what great execution looks like
We want a leader who earns credibility because the team knows:
You can do what you’re asking them to do.
Build Accountability
You’ll help lead the operating rhythm that keeps the sales organization focused and accountable.
That will include:
- Daily sales huddles
- Weekly coaching
- Individual performance reviews
- Sales scorecards
- Pipeline reviews
- Forecasting
- Ride-along planning
- New-hire development
- Sales certification
- CRM discipline
- Performance improvement plans when necessary
Every salesperson should know what is expected, where they stand, and what they need to improve.
Recruit & Develop Talent
Our sales organization is growing, and hiring will remain an important part of the role.
You’ll work alongside our recruiting and training teams to:
- Interview sales candidates
- Help identify the right people
- Participate in hiring decisions
- Onboard new salespeople
- Shorten ramp-up time
- Evaluate new-hire progress
- Develop future leaders
- Retain top performers
- Continually raise the overall talent level of the organization
We want the team to get stronger every year.
Schedule - Not a Traditional 9-to-5 Sales Management Position
Residential in-home sales happens when homeowners are available.
That means many of our most important sales appointments take place during evenings and weekends.
We believe sales leadership needs to be present when the sales team is actually selling.
Our sales organization operates on a rotating A/B schedule, and the Sales Manager will work within a similar rhythm.
You can expect:
- Evening availability during prime appointment times
- Regular Saturday availability
- Occasional Sunday availability based on the rotating team schedule
- Two consecutive days off each week
- A rotating schedule that may include Sunday/Monday off one week and Saturday/Sunday off another
- Flexibility to structure your day around field coaching and ride-alongs
We’re not concerned with whether every workday starts at 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning.
If your most valuable coaching opportunities happen later in the day or on a weekend, that’s where we expect you to be.
This role is about results, presence, and leadership—not punching a clock.
At the same time, we believe in maintaining a sustainable schedule. You’ll have two days off each week while rotating your availability to stay connected with the entire sales team.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proven sales leader who is competitive, energetic, coachable, accountable, and driven by results.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience leading a sales team
- Strong experience coaching and developing salespeople
- B2C experience (required)
- High-ticket residential or in-home sales experience strongly preferred
- Home improvement sales experience preferred
- One-call-close experience strongly preferred
- A track record of improving close rates and sales performance
- Strong understanding of sales KPIs and forecasting
- Experience recruiting and onboarding salespeople
- Comfort using CRM and performance-management systems
- Strong communication skills
- Strong leadership presence
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of the rotating sales schedule
- Willingness to spend significant time in the field
- The ability to personally demonstrate and close an in-home sale
Most importantly, we’re looking for a high-motor leader.
Someone who doesn’t sit back and wait for problems to come to them.
Someone who gets in the car.
Gets in the field.
Finds the problem.
Coaches the salesperson.
And helps fix it.

Ready for Something Different?
Maybe you’ve spent years working inside a large corporate sales organization.
Maybe you’re successful, but you’re tired of layers of management, slow decisions, and feeling like one small piece of a massive company.
You’ll have the resources and support of a growing organization without the bureaucracy that can come with a large national company.
This is an opportunity to help build the next generation of Bo Lacey Construction’s sales organization while doing what great sales leaders do best:
*Develop people.
Create accountability.
Coach in the field.
Win as a team.
Own the number.*
If you’ve built successful sales teams, know how to coach people in the field, and still know how to close when you sit across the table from a homeowner, we’d like to meet you.
