Title: Plant Operations Manager
Location: Thompson, OH
Job Summary: The Plant Operations Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight of plant operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment while driving operational performance, product quality, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for managing production, maintenance, budgeting, capital projects, workforce development, and cross-functional initiatives while fostering a strong safety culture and aligning operational execution with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide daily leadership for plant operations, production, safety, quality, and workforce performance.
- Oversee production activities to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, environmental, and company safety regulations.
- Lead and develop production, maintenance, and operational teams through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Manage operational resources, staffing, and scheduling to meet production goals.
- Oversee plant equipment, facilities, and operational systems to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Lead capital projects and continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity and operational performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production, maintenance, environmental compliance, inventory management, and business objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve operational results.
- Support succession planning, workforce development, and strategic business initiatives.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or a minimum of eight years of related industry experience.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in manufacturing, operations, construction materials, industrial production, or a related industry.
- Three to five years of leadership or management experience with responsibility for safety, budgeting, workforce development, and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Experience with operational planning, production management, budgeting, capital expenditures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- OSHA/MSHA certifications preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials or equipment.
- Frequent visual observation, hearing, and verbal communication to monitor operations, lead meetings, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to analyze operational reports, policies, regulations, and technical information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while making sound business decisions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, leadership, vendors, and customers.
- May require operation of company vehicles, production equipment, and other tools associated with the position.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a combination of office, manufacturing plant, and outdoor environments.
- Frequent exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, dust, varying weather conditions, and active production areas.
- Regular interaction with production, maintenance, and operational personnel.
- Occasional travel to company locations, operational sites, meetings, and training events.
- Generally standard business hours with flexibility to support production demands, emergencies, special projects, and extended hours as needed.

Pay: From $104,700.00 per year
