Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Patternmaker with strong Intimate Apparel expertise to join our New York City team. This is a 100% in-office role responsible for leading intimate apparel development in close collaboration with the Design/Product Development, and Technical Design teams, from concept through production-ready handoff.

This role will also oversee sample room operations, manage a team of sample makers, lead sample development, and coordinate model fittings. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of fit, lingerie construction, support engineering, and intimate textiles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patternmaking & Development

Create first patterns from design sketches, technical packages, construction details, and specifications.
Develop patterns for bras, panties, shapewear, bodysuits, sleepwear, and other intimate categories
Prepare detailed pattern cards and cut tickets to support the sample room during proto, fit, and presentation stages.
Digitize, format (DXF, ZIP, etc.), and maintain accurate, organized digital pattern libraries.
Ensure patterns meet quality, construction, grading, and production requirements across multiple categories and size ranges.
Attend fittings and collaborate closely with Technical Design, Design/Product Development team to implement pattern updates for production handoff.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve fit and construction issues.

Sample Room & Team Management

Manage daily operations of the sample room.
Supervise and mentor a team of sample makers.
Oversee sample development from proto through final approval.
Ensure timelines are met and workflow is organized and efficient.
Collaborate with the Design/Product Development team to align sample priorities with business needs.

Fittings & Scheduling

Schedule and coordinate fittings with models
Lead fit sessions alongside Technical Design, and Design/Product Development team.
Ensure timely execution of fit comments and sample revisions

Qualifications

10+ years of experience as a Patternmaker
Extensive experience in Intimate Apparel (bras, panties, shapewear required)
Strong knowledge of lingerie construction, support systems, elastics, lace, mesh, and delicate fabrics
Experience managing a sample room and leading a technical team preferred
Proficiency in Gerber AccuMark, Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe Suite
Strong understanding of grading across multiple product types and size ranges
Excellent eye for fit, proportion, and garment aesthetics
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or related field preferred

Work Location Requirement

This position is on-site at our New York City office. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
