ABOUT US

We are a privately owned early learning center located in Oconee County, GA, serving children from 3 years to 12 years old. Our focus is on providing a safe, well-organized environment where children can grow through developmentally appropriate activities. As a licensed childcare provider, we are committed to meeting high standards for health, safety, and early education. We are looking for a reliable and organized Cook to join our team and help ensure that our students receive nutritious meals every day.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Cook is responsible for the daily preparation and service of nutritious meals and snacks for children, following menus that meet the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines. This role includes maintaining kitchen sanitation, managing food inventory, and ensuring compliance with Georgia’s Bright from the Start licensing regulations.

We are committed to supporting the right candidate in completing any required training or certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children, adhering to approved menus and portion guidelines
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with all state and regulatory requirements.
Track and manage food inventory, place orders, and receive deliveries
Support allergy and dietary restrictions with sensitivity and accuracy
Ensure the program remains in compliance with all state and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate records and supporting required documentation.
Collaborate with school leadership to adjust menus based on enrollment or program changes
Support the overall school program by assisting with van transportation, classroom coverage during transitions, and special events as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Experience cooking in a commercial or institutional kitchen (e.g., preschool, school, cafeteria, or healthcare setting)
Complete all required annual training as mandated by state childcare licensing regulations and maintain compliance with professional development requirements.
Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting
Basic understanding of nutrition and food safety
A positive, friendly presence with a desire to create a cheerful and supportive mealtime environment for students and staff.

Preferred:

Experience in a childcare or preschool setting
Knowledge of CACFP or similar nutritional programs
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
