Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the pharmacy operations. You will assist pharmacists in providing high-quality patient care by ensuring the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, as well as offering exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities

Dispense and package medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Comply with all licensure and federal, state, and local laws and regulations; observe the pharmacy’s policies, SOPs, and best practices.
Assist the pharmacist in resolving patient concerns and complaints.
Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with pharmacy guidelines.
Report product incidents, adverse events, and unusual occurrences, as required, in accordance with pharmacy policy.
Perform routine patient contact to gather information and arrange deliveries.
Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements.
Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients.
Report or record any patient concerns and complaints, and forward them to a supervisor for appropriate action.
Participate in inspections conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
Maintain compliance with all pharmacy policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacist or supervisor.

Experience

Current knowledge of, or ability to obtain, all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
Organizational skills sufficient to maintain accurate records.
Ability to evaluate options and make efficient decisions.
Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
Proficient with computer software such as Word, Excel, and others used to enter data and draft correspondence, documents, and reports.
High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
18 years of age or older

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear.
The employee is required to use his/her hands to operate vehicles and office equipment.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
The employee may be required to use a computer screen for long periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
