Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Surgery Center

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Job Type: PRN, Tuesday - Friday Only
Schedule: No nights, weekends, or major holidays

We are a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center providing high-quality outpatient surgical care in a safe, efficient, and patient-focused setting. Our team is passionate about delivering excellent outcomes while maintaining a positive and respectful work culture.

Position Summary

We’re seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing surgical team. This PRN/Part-Time role spans pre-op, intra-op (Operating Room), and post-op (PACU) responsibilities. The ideal candidate brings OR experience—but we welcome ICU nurses who are ready to learn and thrive in a surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

Guiding the patient through their surgical experience by offering education, kindness, and support from start to finish (preoperative/intra-operative/postoperative phase)
Excellent clinical skillset with monitoring vital signs, IV placement, administration and understanding of medications, and recognizing and responding to medical emergencies.
Assess the patient’s condition before a surgical procedure.
Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
Help to maintain records for accreditation and assist with preparation for inspections as needed.
Maintain patient charting, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
Be the final check for all pre-operative and consent paperwork ensuring that all information is correct and present.
Checks stock supply and reports low inventory to Material Manager.
Always be a patient advocate and ensure continual focus on risk minimization as it relates to safety within the facility.
A champion for safety with an understanding of correct emergency procedures including completing daily crash cart checks.
Ensure that Universal Precautions are maintained
Ensures that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient.
Works side by side with surgical techs to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room.
Prepares the patient for the procedure and handle the preparation for the operating room before the surgery takes place.
Must have a strong attention to detail and physical stamina to handle long work hours.

What We're Looking For

Current RN license (required)
BLS and ACLS certification (required)
Operating Room experience preferred
ICU experience accepted in place of OR experience
Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
