Full Job Description

Overview Position Summary
Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmic Photographer. The Ophthalmic Photographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of retinal diseases. This role works closely with retina specialists and clinical staff to ensure accurate image capture, proper documentation, and efficient patient flow in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities

- Perform ophthalmic imaging including OCT, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography (FA), indocyanine green angiography (ICG), and fundus autofluorescence (FAF)

- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain tests

- Administer ophthalmic drops per protocol (if applicable)

- Capture and document images in EMR systems

- Ensure image quality meets physician standards

- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment

- Assist physicians during angiography procedures

- Maintain patient flow and coordinate with staff

- Follow safety protocols and HIPAA compliance

- Perform additional clinical duties as assigned

Experience

- Prior experience in ophthalmic or medical photography is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of optical systems and imaging techniques.

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Certification preferred (CRA, COA, COT, MA-C)

- Experience in ophthalmology, preferably retina

- Experience with imaging equipment (OCT, fundus camera, angiography)

- Strong attention to detail and communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

- EMR experience

- Knowledge of retinal diseases

- Phlebotomy skills (if applicable must be certified Medical Assistant)

- Strong multitasking ability

Physical Requirements

- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods

- Assisting patients with positioning

- Manual dexterity for equipment use

Compensation & Benefits
