Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized professional to serve as a Deputy Town Clerk, Tax Collector, and Treasurer. This pivotal Assistant role, combines administrative oversight, financial management, and public service responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of municipal functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong financial acumen, and a commitment to transparency and community engagement. In this multifaceted position, you will manage vital records, oversee tax collection processes, handle treasury functions, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual eager to make a meaningful impact within local government.

Duties

Assissting the Clerk/Treasurer/Tax Collector/Regsistrar with the day to day operations of the Town
Supervising the office's, clerks and assistant clerks.
Oversee the collection of property taxes, assessments, and other municipal revenues.
Prepare detailed financial reports.
Conduct account reconciliation procedures such as balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable processing, and general ledger accounting to ensure financial accuracy.
Assist with facilitating payroll processing for municipal staff while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure compliance with governmental regulations regarding reporting requirements and public accountability standards.

Requirements

This person must excel in customer service and have a desire to be part of a great team. Experience in navigating an audit is preferred. Experience in a municipal environment is preferred. Experience with TRIO is preferred.

Starting pay is dependent on experience.
