Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor In Training or experienced Survey Technician or PLS to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, utilizing advanced surveying technologies, and ensuring precise data collection for various construction, civil engineering, and land development projects. This role requires a strong foundation in land surveying principles, technical proficiency with industry-standard software and equipment, and the ability to interpret legal descriptions and construction plans. The Surveyor will play a vital role in supporting project accuracy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct land surveys using mostly GPS, with limited total station, and level instruments to collect accurate survey data.
Utilize CAD software such as Carlson, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D for drafting schematics, mapping, and data analysis.
Prepare detailed survey reports including legal descriptions, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and construction staking plans.
Operate Trimble GNSS systems and other GPS surveying equipment to establish precise geographic positions.
Analyze survey data to produce accurate topographic maps, site layouts, and survey plats.
Assist in the development of survey plats by interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
Maintain safety protocols during fieldwork and ensure proper use of hand tools and surveying instruments.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met efficiently.

Experience

Proven experience in land surveying or civil engineering projects involving GPS surveying, construction staking, or ALTA surveys.
Proficiency with survey equipment such as total stations, GPS systems (including Trimble GNSS), levels, and data collection tools.
Strong knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math principles relevant to surveying calculations.
Familiarity with CAD drafting Carlson, (AutoCAD), and or Civil 3Dsoftware suites for design and mapping purposes.
Experience with Austin, Local Counties and FEMA GIS applications for research and record information collection.
Ability to interpret survey plats, deeds, legal descriptions and schematics accurately for survey documentation.
Construction experience is preferred and ability to work outdoors.
Excellent data analysis skills combined with attention to detail in recording survey measurements.
