Job Summary
Full service locksmiths are accountable for scheduled and emergency projects in Austin, Texas and neighboring areas regarding installing, fixing, replacing, and rekeying industrial locks and security systems, automotive locks, and residential locks. You’ll also address inquiries for duplication of keys, various lockout situations, laser cutting keys, and programming car transponder keys. Remember that this is a full-time job that will require being on call for many hours.
Expectations
On top of the competencies already mentioned, you have to be educated and experienced with:
- (dis)assembling parts of a lock
- using a key cutting machine to make new keys
- replacing locks
- ignition repair and replacement
- putting in and fixing electronic locks such as biometric locks and numeric keypads
- unlocking car doors and trunks
- rekeying automotive, household, and industrial locksets
- installing commercial security apparatuses such as panic devices and video surveillance while using required tools and equipment
- residential, commercial, and auto lock work
Do you have little experience as a locksmith? Have some mechanical experience? We’re able to teach candidates that are dedicated and wanting to learn! Requirements
If you are certain that you can carry out all of the duties mentioned previously, ensure that you hold the following skills too before sending an application:
- dependable vehicle out of which to work
- US citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa
- valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- customer service and interpersonal skills (meaning you are well-mannered and friendly)
- 5+ years of locksmith experience (preferred)
- high school graduate or GED certification
