Full Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist whose primary responsibility will be managing the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification process. This role is ideal for someone early in their HR or recruiting career who wants to develop strong compliance skills while supporting the broader talent acquisition function. This is a 6+month contract with a hybrid schedule.

You will ensure every new hire is properly verified in accordance with federal regulations and maintain accurate, audit-ready records.

Core Responsibilities

I-9 Verification & Compliance (Primary Focus – ~70%)

Complete and review Form I-9 (Sections 1 and 2) for all new hires accurately and within required timelines
Examine original identity and work authorization documents presented by employees
Enter and maintain I-9 data in the HRIS and/or E-Verify system
Track document expiration dates and manage the re-verification process
Conduct routine internal audits of I-9 files to ensure compliance and audit readiness
Identify and escalate incomplete forms, discrepancies, or potential compliance risks

Supporting Talent Acquisition Duties

Assist with candidate scheduling, communication, and interview coordination
Support offer letter preparation and pre-boarding documentation
Update and maintain records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Provide administrative support during high-volume hiring periods
Help with new-hire orientation and onboarding logistics as needed

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
1–3 years of experience in HR, recruiting, administrative support, or a compliance-related role
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
Ability to follow detailed processes and meet strict deadlines

Preferred

Prior exposure to Form I-9, E-Verify, or employment eligibility verification
Experience working in a high-volume hiring or regulated environment
Familiarity with HRIS or Applicant Tracking Systems

Success Metrics

Accurate and timely completion of all I-9s
Clean internal and external audit results
Minimal compliance issues or rework
Reliable support to the Talent Acquisition team

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
