Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for the wellbeing, direction and supervision of all operations personnel at the designated site. Ensures corporate, divisional goals and initiatives regarding People, HSE, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and any others, are performed efficiently by elaborating plans to meet or exceed related KPIs and by taking timely corrective actions when not achieved. Presents self as an approachable, exemplar and visible leader who is always available to provide support to others when needed by taking an active role in all matters of the operation.

Essential Functions:

Takes prompt action to remove all safety hazards.
Performs the related tasks and keeps the required records in compliance with EPA & OSHA requirements.
Assures new employees are properly trained.
Coaches and develops personnel.
Resolves quality problems promptly implementing relevant actions to prevent recurrence.
Plans and arranges daily production through most efficient use of equipment, materials and associates time and skills.
Maintains control over materials usage, equipment utilization, scrap and efficiency. Monitors availability of materials and inventory accuracy.
Monitors production efficiency, quality, safety and employee performance taking relevant actions to improve.
Anticipates and investigates causes of delays or inadequate performance and takes corrective action within scope of authority.
Maintains all necessary production, scrap and employee records. Monitors employee attendance, punctuality and all discipline related aspects.
Assures equipment is maintained in good, safe working order.
Maintains familiarity with all rules and regulations. Administers in a fair and consistent manner.
Communication liaison between production and customer service.
Responsible for building and grounds conditions.
Coordinates with Human Resources Manager the administration of disciplinary actions, discharges, any other matters related to employment law and exercises control over sensitive information.
Promotes sense of urgency regarding problem solving, identifying root causes and implementing actions to prevent recurrence of personnel, HSE, quality and productivity issues.
Recognizes performance of peers providing positive reinforcement feedback and provides the path for improvement establishing defined goals and enhance performance.

Secondary Duties:

Manages physical inventory in coordination with Materials Manager.
Ensures open communication with Sales regarding order status and potential challenges regarding promised ship dates.
Rearranges schedules to meet new or emergency situations.
Cooperates with other departments on projects for new or existing products or equipment.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, equivalent technical training or experience.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing setting with similar level of responsibility and functions.

Preferred Skills:

Lean Certification
Bilingual (Spanish)
Problem Solving and Root Cause analysis techniques.

Special Requirements:

Able and willing to spend majority of time in manufacturing areas considering all shifts and associates.
