Annapolis Family Acupuncture seeks an acupuncturist (26-31 hours of patient care per week). Shifts needed are below--we need this new person to work at least 5 of the following shifts (please only apply if you are available to work these times).
- Tuesdays: 9:00-2:00
- Wednesdays: 9:00-2:00
- Thursdays: 12:00-8:00 OR Mondays 12-8:00
- Fridays: 9:00-5:00
- Every other Saturday: 9:00-3:00
AFA is an award winning busy acupuncture practice in Annapolis, Maryland that has won best of Annapolis 5 times including this year, and we are ready to expand our team once again! Our clinic sees all sorts of cases with an emphasis on immunity and allergies but any background is encouraged to apply--we have a lot of requests for women's health, pain and pediatrics as well.
Pay is per patient and we offer competitive rates of pay for the area. Our front desk staff offers great support and acupuncturist responsibilities are refined to doing what we love--treating our patients! Our team will handle all billing and support duties so you have no need to bring work home with you.
Responsibilities:
- Provide acupuncture treatments to patients for various health conditions. Though not mandatory as we can teach you over time, we see all patients of every phase of life and experience treating pregnant patients, pediatrics, patients undergoing chemotherapy, labor induction and geriatrics is a plus!
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans and maintain professional medical notes--medical notes must be kept and up to standard for medical note-taking (we can provide training if needed).
- Administer acupuncture techniques to alleviate pain and promote healing, including acupuncture, e-stim, cupping and gua sha.
- Educate patients on the benefits of acupuncture and its role in holistic healthcare
Experience:
- AFA is mostly interested in bringing on the right fit and willing to teach specialized skills to newer practitioners if this person is the right fit for our team, though of course experience in the field will also be considered
- Proficient in performing acupuncture techniques for acute and chronic pain management
Skills:
- Excellent patient service and communication skills; we pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our patients
- Ability to create a comfortable and safe environment for patients during treatments
- Knowledge of alternative therapies and complementary medicine such as herbal medicine or supplementation is highly valued!
