HVAC Installer Technician (supporting the Lead Installer).

Get In on the Ground Floor of a Growing HVAC Division

Heil Plumbing & HVAC is looking for a dependable HVAC Install Technician to support our lead installers on residential install jobs of outdoor units. This is not a lead role — you don't need to finalize installs or run the job. What we need is a strong, reliable second set of hands who can work independently on assigned tasks and keep installs moving.

We are in the early stages of building out our HVAC division. That means real opportunity to learn, grow, and shape how things are built — alongside experienced lead installers who know what they're doing.

If you have 3 or more years of experience installing outdoor units on your own and you're ready to keep building your skills on a team that values quality and integrity, this is a great fit.

What You’ll Do

Install Support

Assist lead installers with residential HVAC installs: heat pumps, gas furnaces, A/C, ductless, and some boilers and oil systems
Work independently on assigned tasks — including outdoor unit set, pad prep, and basic line set work
Set equipment, help run line sets, and assist with wiring and startups under the lead's direction
Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe
Load and unload equipment and materials

Install Work

Perform/ lead installs of heat pumps, gas furnaces, A/C, ductless, and some boilers and oil systems
Set equipment, run line sets, wire systems, and assist with startups
Troubleshoot install-related issues

Operations & Team Contribution:

Work closely with the lead installer, dispatch, and office team
Maintain truck stock and job readiness
Use ServiceTitan for job tracking
Provide feedback to help improve systems and processes

What We’re Looking For:

3 years of experience installing residential outdoor units (condensers, heat pumps)
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks without lead-level oversight
Willingness to take direction from the lead installer
Ability to work in a growing company where not every process is fully built yet
Strong communication and professionalism
Commitment to safety and quality
Valid driver's license
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
EPA Certification preferred
MD Apprentice license preferred

Physical Requirements:

This role requires physical stamina and manual labor in a variety of environments, including attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, ladders, and non-climate-controlled spaces. Regular lifting of about 50 lbs is required, with occasional lifting of 75–100+ lbs with assistance.
