Full Job Description

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Department: Materials Management

Position is located: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Work Type: Part Time Eligible

Hours Per Week: 16 Hours

Work Schedule: Variable

Summary :

Transports patients to areas such as operating rooms or x-ray rooms using wheelchairs, stretchers, or moveable beds. May also transport supplies, equipment, specimens, and/or medications.

Responsibilities :

· Lifts or assists others to lift patients to move them on or off beds, examination tables, surgical tables, or stretchers. · Transports patients to treatment units, testing units, operating rooms, or other areas, using wheelchairs, stretchers, or moveable beds. · Cleans, disinfects, and sanitizes equipment, such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, or portable medical equipment, documenting needed repairs or maintenance. · Responds to emergency situations, such as emergency medical calls, security calls, or fire alarms. · Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed. · May perform other duties upon request.

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is a 411- bed, regional tertiary care hospital and an American College of Surgeons-verified Level II Trauma Center. Located in Bangor, Maine, it serves as the principal referral center for a patient population of 500,000 residents across the northern two-thirds of the state. The medical center provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including advanced surgical care, neurosciences, cardiovascular medicine, oncology, and critical care.

Eastern Maine Medical Center is the base for LifeFlight of Maine, a critical care air medical transport program that conducts nearly 900 missions annually, ensuring timely access to specialized care for rural and remote communities. As a member of Northern Light Health, the medical center is part of an integrated statewide health system comprising nine hospitals, numerous primary and specialty care practices, long-term care facilities, home health and hospice agencies, and emergency ground and air transport services.
