Maintenance Technician Field Supervisor

Maine Real Estate Management (MREM) – Bangor, MEFull-Time | Hourly (Negotiable Based on Experience)

Maine Real Estate Management (MREM) is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Technician Field Supervisor to help train, lead, and grow our maintenance department. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys leadership, mentoring others, and working in a collaborative, family-oriented environment.

We provide customized property management solutions tailored to each client’s needs, including financial reporting, rent collection, cost-saving strategies, and leasing services. Our diverse portfolio includes condo associations, apartment communities, office and retail buildings, mobile home parks, and single-family homes.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician Field Supervisor plays a key role in the success of our maintenance operations. This position assists with hiring, training, and supervising maintenance technicians while providing hands-on technical support in the field. The supervisor ensures work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards, while maintaining strong communication with tenants, team members, property managers, and vendors.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in general maintenance, cleaning, and building trades, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Train and onboard new maintenance technicians
Provide ongoing coaching, technical support, and performance feedback
Ensure technicians have the necessary tools, materials, and supplies
Assist technicians with larger or more complex maintenance projects
Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on scheduling, training, and job timelines
Maintain professional and thoughtful communication with tenants, technicians, clients, property managers, and vendors
Coordinate with the vendor coordinator when work falls outside the scope of in-house maintenance
Participate in and complete department-wide training programs
Help develop and implement maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and workplace safety policies
Ensure company policies and procedures are clearly communicated and consistently followed
Address performance issues and assist with disciplinary actions when needed
Utilize email, Microsoft Office, mobile technology, and property management software

Qualifications & Skills

Strong knowledge of maintenance, cleaning, and building trades
Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to delegate effectively and manage varying personalities
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
Comfortable using technology and maintenance software
Organized, dependable, and safety-focused
