Full Job Description

Discovering Kids provides early intervention services to children, age 3 – 5, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental and behavior disorders.

Educational Technician Position

Responsibilities include providing direct instruction in a 1:1 context to teach children basic school routines necessary for independence in a preschool setting. Additionally, we teach children how to communicate with others, understand what others say, play appropriately with peers, become independent with self-care needs, and to engage appropriately in a variety of pre/academic, leisure, and fun activities!

You will be fully supported in this position by experienced special educators and behavior analysts that will provide hands-on training and guidance related to any teaching objective you work on with a child.

This is a contracted, year around position working in a preschool classroom with other educational technicians, special educators, behavior analysts, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to meet the needs of the children we serve.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and executing personalized education and behavioral intervention plans based on each individual’s needs.
Monitor and document behavioral progress, collecting data to inform ongoing treatment strategies.
Implement behavior management techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
Support individuals with activities of daily living, including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient care routines..
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and family members to implement care plans.
