Job Title: General Maintenance WorkerJob Description
This role performs a wide range of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to keep building systems, equipment, and facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained. You work primarily Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., handling basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general facility maintenance tasks while ensuring a safe work environment and timely completion of work orders.
Responsibilities-
Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, facility equipment, and tools to ensure consistent and reliable operation.

Complete maintenance work orders efficiently and accurately, prioritizing tasks to minimize downtime and disruption.

Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues, including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs.

Carry out basic plumbing maintenance such as repairing sinks and toilets and unclogging drains.

Support HVAC maintenance by changing filters, performing preventive checks, and recognizing common HVAC issues that require attention.

Perform carpentry tasks including door and lock repairs, drywall patching, and basic woodworking and fixture installation.

Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and effectively for a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.

Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment to extend service life.

Prepare surfaces and perform painting and finishing work on walls, doors, and equipment, including minor cosmetic repairs.

Maintain a safe and orderly work environment by following safety procedures, using equipment properly, and identifying potential hazards.

Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks safely and efficiently.

Climb and carry ladders and access elevated work areas to perform maintenance and repairs.

Work independently or with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards and productivity.

Interact with others in a diplomatic and positive manner, supporting a cooperative and respectful work atmosphere.
Essential Skills-
1–3 years of experience in general labor, maintenance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Ability to perform general maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and building maintenance.

Proficiency in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repair of building systems and facility equipment.

Basic electrical repair skills, including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs and troubleshooting minor electrical issues.

Plumbing maintenance skills, including repairing sinks and toilets and unclogging drains.

Working knowledge of HVAC systems, including changing filters, performing preventive maintenance, and recognizing common HVAC issues.

Carpentry skills such as door and lock repairs, drywall patching, and basic woodworking and fixture installation.

Ability to operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and address mechanical issues in a practical, hands-on environment.

Ability to read and write in English to understand work orders, safety procedures, and documentation.

Valid driver’s license (REAL ID with a star) and an acceptable driving record.

Ability to provide proof of current car insurance.

Capability to work alone or with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent productivity and quality.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with others in a diplomatic and positive manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Experience in industrial maintenance or construction environments.

Work Environment
The work environment is high volume and fast paced, requiring consistently high-quality output and productivity throughout the day. You work an 8-hour shift, typically Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The role is highly physical and requires the ability to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand, and walk. You use your hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single grasp motions, and you frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds while occasionally moving objects in excess of 100 pounds. You regularly load and unload trucks, climb and carry ladders, and work at various heights to perform maintenance tasks. The position involves regular use of hand and power tools and interaction with building systems and facility equipment in a maintenance and repair setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.61 - $22.61/hr.
