Position Overview
Join our team as a Front Desk Receptionist and become an essential part of creating outstanding experiences for our clients and their pets. This fast-paced position is ideal for organized, dependable individuals who enjoy helping people, multitasking, and working alongside a team that is passionate about animal care.
As the first point of contact for many clients, you will help ensure every guest receives friendly, professional service while supporting the daily operations of our daycare, boarding, and grooming departments.
Training & Cross-Training
At East Side Pet Ranch, we believe the best client service comes from truly understanding every aspect of our operation. Because of this, all Front Desk Receptionist begin their employment by training as Kennel Technicians during their first 30 days. This hands-on training provides a strong understanding of our daily operations, pet care standards, safety procedures, and the experience our guests receive behind the scenes.
While this position's primary role is Front Desk Reception, every member of our team is cross-trained to support multiple departments. Depending on business needs and staffing, Front Desk employees may be scheduled for approximately 1-2 kennel technician shifts per week (typically no more than 1-2 shifts during a standard 5-day work week). These shifts help maintain familiarity with our pet care procedures while allowing us to provide exceptional support across the facility when needed.
Our goal is to build a team where everyone understands the full client and pet experience, communicates effectively across departments, and works together to provide the highest level of care possible.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and pets with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Answer phones, emails, text messages, and online inquiries.
- Schedule daycare, boarding, grooming, and evaluation appointments.
- Review vaccine records and maintain accurate client and pet information.
- Process payments and manage client accounts.
- Assist clients with questions regarding services, policies, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with kennel and grooming staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Monitor reservations, occupancy, and daily schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
- Complete kennel technician training during the first 30 days of employment.
- Provide kennel technician coverage as needed, including assisting with pet care, feeding, cleaning, medication administration, and daily facility operations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while helping build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Qualifications
- Previous kennel and customer service experience is required.
- Experience in veterinary medicine, grooming, daycare, boarding, or other pet care environments is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working in both client-facing and hands-on animal care environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable learning and navigating computer software systems.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to cross-train and assist multiple departments as business needs require.
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
